Manjaro KDE Plasma

Plasma is good,  Dolphin FIle Browser & Kate Text Editor is good  But takes wee bit longer for Firefox to load and get ready to accept key strokes.   So, It will be XFCE 4.20 for me (i3 & Hyprland !!)     I hope the broken Arch Packages Sob Story of Oct to Dec 2026 will not haunt me.   I just could not install both VLC Player and Google Chrome on Manjaro between Oct to Dec 2025... I had screwed up LC trying to make it run video's from thunar root/other partitions....    The pain of installing VLC drove me to test Omarchy, Debian, Xubuntu.....   Well....  single boot Manjaro with KDE Plasma .... somehow, Plasma on 4 GB RAM + Intel i3  Processor is pretty slow compared to xfce.. Update:  February 15... I couldn't stand kde plasma.. overwrote kde plasma with Fresh install of Manjaro xfce

moved to debian Dec 13 2025 -moved out Jan 4 2026

Debian Linux 13 Moved to it Debian, it was always a Dream ...  Since I could not install Arch (it simply did not detect Hard Disk .....), wanted to move to Debian. I wanted to create lots of gifs/mp4 of Kannadiga's on tenor.com I need a light Linux Distro, but with XFCE :)  Installed Debian 13 with XFCE without any flavours   Found below things that pained me during Debian Install  Connecting Mobile Phone, selecting transfer USB files in mobile Phone.. The Phone won't get detected in Thunar or Thunar Root. Just won't show up. ery painful sudo apt-get install mtp-tools and gmptp   too won't help. sudo apt install gvfs-backends  sudo cp ~/image.jpg /usr/share/backgrounds/xfce/ vim /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf   <Nothing to do here> sudo vim /etc/default/grub  Add this line GRUB_BACKGROUND="/home/m/anna-aane.png" sudo update-grub

Zorin Core/Lite on Lenovo T480

tldr: Zorin too needs more refinement.  Another month & .. I saw a Civil Engineer struggling to build Android Apps.  His complaint: Machine is very slow.  Intel i5, 16 gb RAM, but Windows 11....  Laptop was bogged down his needs: needs Java21, Node 20, npm 10, Dart SDK 3.4, android Studio, AVD's upwards of API28, Postman, ....   He's some one who needs Icons to click & the App must open.  He's afraid of command prompt.   Decided to use Zorin Lite or Zorin Core... (I was said it has XFCE, how poorly written is the Zorin Website...)   Press Ctrl s to enter Bios,  Select select temporary device to boot from .....  Choose USB. Created a partition of 161 GB 160 GB for / and Zorin mount point 1 GB for reserved Bios Boot Area Installation completed, removed the Bootable USB (created using Rufus)  Rebooted Dual Boot did not show up,  Directly entered into Windows 11.   I did mistake number 1  Com...
