 have been struggling on Manjaro/Debian/Xubuntu to get  typing peacefully Kannada text in LIbreoffice Writer   Install VLC with codecs to play videos captured from redmi mobile phone fiddle around with some coding in vim, python    Any one who has suffered with Arch User Repository in 2025, will vouch, how badly Arch based packages have suffered. Vandalism from miscreants on AUR apart, Arch based Distro's need serious introspection installing Google Chrome needs 17 packages including fakeroot, base-devel & all, but still Chrome may not work Installing VLC & playing webm, mp4 is a nightmare. I have lost the wherewithal to  keep experimenting.. Cachy OS is big on hype. There is zero performance gain, compared to Manjaro Tiling Window Manager's (i3wm, fluxbox, Hyprland, ...) they are not for me, some one who needs to keep shifting between 10 windows.    I use an older laptop, so XFCE was my friend. I had Ubuntu installed on a 256 GB spinning harddisk with zfs file system, in 2021. For a vague reason, I had to give that laptop to my close friend's office Admin. He removed this Hard disk and since then, I'm struggling to Open that zfs harddisk.. A for Arch to Z for Zorin. None, I could..

 Plasma is good,  Dolphin FIle Browser & Kate Text Editor is good  But takes wee bit longer for Firefox to load and get ready to accept key strokes.   So, It will be XFCE 4.20 for me (i3 & Hyprland !!)     I hope the broken Arch Packages Sob Story of Oct to Dec 2026 will not haunt me.   I just could not install both VLC Player and Google Chrome on Manjaro between Oct to Dec 2025... I had screwed up LC trying to make it run video's from thunar root/other partitions....    The pain of installing VLC drove me to test Omarchy, Debian, Xubuntu.....   Well....  single boot Manjaro with KDE Plasma .... somehow, Plasma on 4 GB RAM + Intel i3  Processor is pretty slow compared to xfce.. Update:  February 15... I couldn't stand kde plasma.. overwrote kde plasma with Fresh install of Manjaro xfce
